Audi Revolut F1 R26 Hype

Audi Revolut F1® Team

Audi Revolut F1® Team

Audi entered Formula 1® by acquiring the Sauber Group in Switzerland. The team has competed in the FIA Formula 1® World Championship since 1992, bringing over three decades of top-level motorsport experience to what is now the Audi Revolut F1® Team. The cars are developed at the team’s factory in Hinwil, located about 30 kilometers from Zurich, which also serves as the hub for race operations. The team collaborates closely with Audi Formula Racing (AFR) in Neuburg an der Donau, where the powertrain is engineered. In addition, a technology center in Bicester, England, provides access to one of the world’s largest concentrations of motorsport expertise and talent.

Bringing Everything Full Circle

Audi’s sustainability vision blends circular materials, electrification, and low-emission innovation across its lineup. Its Formula 1 entry amplifies this: developing hybrid power units with increased electric output and 100% sustainable fuels—turning motorsport into a test lab that directly feeds cleaner, more efficient technology into Audi’s road cars.

Audi Formula Racing GmbH (AFR) in Neuburg an der Donau, near the Audi headquarters, was founded specifically for the Audi F1® Project.

The Race Calendar

A program of 24 Grand Prix on five continents ensures global media coverage of the sport and a high degree of continuity throughout the calendar year. The Formula 1® season consists of races on permanent racetracks alternating with races on street circuits such as Monte Carlo, Las Vegas, and – new this year – Madrid. Each race weekend features three days of action on the track. Unfortunately, this year the Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar Grand Prix's we're cancelled, bringing the season down to 21 Grand Prix.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship features a record-equalling 24-race calendar spanning five continents and running from early March to early December. It marks a major new era for the sport, with new technical regulations and updated team and manufacturer line-ups, alongside a reshaped schedule designed for better regional flow and reduced travel.

The season begins in Australia (Melbourne) on March 6–8, setting the tone for a fast-paced opening stretch across Asia and the Middle East. Early rounds include China (Shanghai), and Japan (Suzuka).

From May, the championship moves to the Americas and Europe, starting with Miami, then Canada, before a traditional European core featuring iconic venues like Monaco, Silverstone (UK), Spa (Belgium), Hungary, and Monza (Italy). A notable change in 2026 is the inclusion of Madrid as a new Spanish Grand Prix venue, replacing the Emilia-Romagna round.

Late summer sees races in the Netherlands, followed by a return to a geographically mixed run of events in Azerbaijan and Singapore. The final stretch of the season is a demanding flyaway sequence across the Americas and Middle East, including Austin (USA), Mexico City, São Paulo, Las Vegas, Qatar, and finishing in Abu Dhabi (Yas Marina) on December 4–6.

Overall, the 2026 calendar is designed to be more efficient logistically, grouping races more tightly by region while maintaining the sport’s global footprint. It also introduces a fresh competitive backdrop, with new manufacturers entering F1 and updated cars reshaping the racing landscape.
